Whether you enjoy it plain, with butter, or with chocolate chips or nuts mixed in, banana bread is a timeless favourite that's sure to satisfy your cravings. A great option for breakfast, morning tea, or afternoon tea.
YOU'LL NEED
1 cup sugar
60g butter, softened
1 2/3 cups mashed bananas
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup sour cream
1 egg
2 cups self-raising flour
pinch of salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease and line a 9x19cm loaf tin. Place sugar and butter in a bowl and beat until well combined. Add the banana, milk, sour cream, and egg. Mix well. Add the flour and salt into the creamed mixture. Be careful not to overmix. Pour into the loaf tin and bake for 1 hour 10 minutes, or until the skewer comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in the tin, before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
ADDITIONS
Mix in a cup of chopped nuts or chocolate chips with the flour.
